NEW MEMBERS CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Another Spring Bonsai Show at the Krohn Conservatory has come and gone, bringing two days of enjoyment to the people of Greater Cincinnati. This was made possible with the help of some dependable members of the Society. There was not 100% representation, or anywhere near that figure, but the effort shown by the newer members, serving as host and hostess for the first, second or even third time proves that something is being done to properly develop the purpose of the Society. Applause goes to all who made the effort. Thank you. -Ken Moore Host/Hostess Coordinator (With Editorial apologies to all those who helped, this article should have been in last month’s issue. The fault lies entirely with me. Having attended a few Krohn Shows, and worked a couple myself, I would like to echo Ken’s thoughts and express my appreciation to everyone who pitched in. While speaking on the topic of volunteerism, please note the little notice below—Ed.)

We Want You! (to volunteer…) Anybody out there feel like their life is boring, predictable and shot through with uneventful happenings? If so, you are a chronic loser, in need of professional help, and this message is not for you. Otherwise, your Greater Cincinnati Bonsai Society is seeking the services of a dedicated, hard working, and fun-loving individual or two, or three, to head up and/or help with the Fall Show at Coney Island. Please contact any of the club officers, committee heads or other bigwigs—John Carroll, Dave Radlinski, Tom Mounce, Don Shricker, Steve Raitt, to name just a few—or just shout it out loud at the next meeting. Just think—your chance to run a show that will be seen by hundreds, if not thousands of people! The fame! The glory! Seriously, though, we are indeed looking for volunteers. Any time you can contribute will be greatly appreciated. The work is not too hard, the event is genuinely fun, and it may be just the opportunity you were looking for!
